ABOUT US

Hi and welcome to our little corner of the world. I’m Toya and I have two awesome kiddos – Lola and Lewis. 

In 2018, we became a family of three.

Back when I was married to their dad, my in-laws would refer to the four of us as “the 44th Ficks” on group texts to keep things simple. We live on 44th Ave; his parents live on 45th Ave; and we all have the same last name. So calling us by where we lived just made it easier to tell us apart. Our kids really liked being called the 44th Ficks and would refer to us that way all the time. Lewis even had a little cheer that he made the four of us together from time to time. After we told the kids we were getting a divorce, one of the first questions I remember Lewis asked me was: “Are we still the 44th Ficks?” How could I say no? (After all, I am keeping our family home.)
